Tall narrow ivory and orange feathered petal canvas art

Feathered petals in ivory and slate gray fan upward from the base of a tall, narrow canvas, and at the very top a single orange petal curls over like a flame.

Each form is built up in sculpted plaster and combed into fine parallel ridges, so the petals read like feathers or the ribs of a folding fan. They deepen to charcoal where they gather low on the left, and their edges are picked out in thin ochre and gold lines. The right side is left nearly bare, pale gray-white with a cream haze, giving the relief room and keeping orange as the only strong colour.
