Combed cream plaster swirls over olive gold canvas painting

Cream plaster is swept into overlapping circles across the whole canvas, each sweep combed into dozens of fine parallel grooves, like the rings on a cut tree stump or a fingerprint seen very close. Olive-gold shows through between the ridges and in the gaps between swirls, so every arc is outlined in a thin dark line.

In two places, upper right and lower left, the plaster crumbles into lacy white clusters that look like foam or blossom, and a few olive drips run straight down through the lower half, the only vertical marks in a surface made of curves.
