Chocolate brown, sand and white textured canvas painting

A channel of thick white cuts down the canvas from the upper right to the lower left, jagged along both edges, between a broad mass of chocolate brown and a crust of warm sand beige at the top.

Each colour carries its own mark. The white is stippled and peaked, standing up in little crests; the brown is dragged in short curved sweeps that leave soft ridges; the sand is laid in flat, overlapping slabs like broken stone. The paint stands well off the surface everywhere, so the borders between fields are physical steps, not just changes of colour.
