A single tree spreads its crown across the full width of the canvas, so heavy with white blossom that the branches show only as dark threads between the flowers. On the right the canopy droops in long trailing strands against deep chocolate brown; on the left it opens onto a patch of teal sky.

Each flower is its own raised dab of white, some blushed pale pink, with a dot of yellow at its heart, so the crown becomes a field of tiny bumps. Beneath it the ground breaks into broad strokes of ochre, olive, mustard and rust, and the curving trunk anchors everything just left of centre.
