About this painting

Six brushed bars stack down a white canvas like a tonal scale, from the palest silver grey at the top to near black at the bottom. Each looks laid down in one wet pass of thinned paint: pigment pools along the edges, blooms in soft clouds and turns to dry, broken streaks where the brush ran short of paint.

No two bars match in length or ending. The top one is squared off, and the third trails a thin dark underline at its left end. Wide white margins on every side keep the stack centred.

MA#056 is an original minimalist geometric painting showing six horizontal watercolour bars grading from pale grey to black, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Around a boardroom table or along open-plan desks, the grey scale sits easily with black steel, concrete, white oak and glass partitions. Because the darkest bar is at the base, the canvas looks settled hung over a low bench or credenza in a corridor or entrance hall, at a distance where passers-by can make out the washes. Neutral light around 3500 to 4000K keeps the greys clean; very warm light nudges the pale bars towards beige.

Specified for corridor & circulation, meeting & boardroom, workspace & office and entryway & hallway; it reads as calming.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for MA#056 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on MA#056 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why do the bars darken from top to bottom?

Putting the heaviest tone at the base makes the stack feel grounded, the way a stone wall sits on its darkest course. Read upward, the bars lighten step by step, which gives a tall wall a gentle lift instead of a solid block of black.

Will the grey bars clash with a coloured wall?

No. With only greys and black on white, the canvas sits against sage, terracotta, navy or ochre without competing. The wall colour does tint the greys slightly, warming them beside terracotta and cooling them beside blue, so check it against a paint sample first.

Is MA#056 a print or an original painting?

An original. MA#056 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of MA#056 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
