Mount Fuji rises as a white cone against a turquoise sky, framed by two cherry branches that reach in from the upper corners and almost meet over the summit.

The snow is where the paint lies heaviest, dragged downward in thick white strokes with streaks of pale blue marking the ridges. Beneath it the lower slopes switch abruptly to deep ultramarine and cobalt, then to a band of green trees dabbed in with short upright marks and a few mauve shapes along the bottom edge. The blossom is quick pink, magenta and violet touches on dark twig lines. The handling is loose and direct, about colour more than detail.
