About this painting

Mist hangs between tall teal trunks, and a warm amber glow breaks through at the top of the clearing behind a single pale tree. The trees line the left and right edges and lean slightly inward, framing an opening that fades from yellow to blue as it comes down the canvas. Across the bottom third, spikes of purple and pink rise among round orange and gold flowers, with touches of magenta.

The brushwork is soft and blended, the mist laid in thin veils over the trunks; only the flowers are dabbed in separate, firmer strokes.
