About this painting

A small round figure in a blue turban stands with its back to the viewer, gazing up at a framed portrait of itself on a pale grey gallery wall.

Both share a mustard tail falling from the turban, an olive dress and one oversized white pearl earring; inside the dark carved frame the portrait smiles back with rosy cheeks, a cartoon take on a famous 17th-century painting. A tiny wall label completes the museum joke. The rest is left almost empty: a soft halo of light around the frame, a floor line in the lower third and a short shadow at the figure's feet, in clean, flat paint.

CA#657 is an original colorful figurative painting showing cartoon character in blue turban gazing at a framed Girl with a Pearl Earring parody, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The painted wall is so close to a real white or pale grey wall that, at large sizes, the little figure appears to share the room, so keep the lower edge low, around knee height, at the end of a studio corridor or beside a gallery shop counter. A single spotlight aimed at the frame inside the picture repeats the painted halo. Among birch ply, white oak and plain plaster, the blue turban becomes the only strong colour.

Specified for gallery & retail, corridor & circulation, workspace & office and home office; it reads as uplifting and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#657 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#657 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Will visitors recognise the joke in CA#657?

Most will. The blue turban with a yellow tail and the single pearl earring point straight to one of the best-known Dutch portraits of the 1600s, so a chubby figure meeting its own famous likeness in a gallery reads at once, even to people who know little art history.

Why is the figure in CA#657 painted from behind?

So the viewer stands where it stands. Seen from the back, the little figure becomes a stand-in for whoever is looking at the canvas, while the smiling portrait faces out toward both of them. That double look is the whole joke, and it works best where people pause in front of art.

Is CA#657 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#657 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#657 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
