Two great feathered wings open out from a single dark point at the centre, one burning magenta and coral, the other running from orange and gold down into teal and sage. No body sits between them, only a small plum-coloured join, so the wings are the whole subject.

Feathers are stacked in overlapping rows like roof tiles, from short coverts near the join to the long flight feathers at the tips, each with a paler edge. Behind them the ground breaks into rough blocks of navy, indigo, petrol teal and near-black, lifting to turquoise just above the join, with a few ember-orange flecks along the bottom edge.
