About this painting

Ten rows of old doors are stacked edge to edge down the full height of the canvas, well over a hundred of them and no two alike: arched, panelled, half-glazed, some with fanlights, a few behind wrought-iron grilles.

Every door is held to sepia, warm grey and cream, with no colour accent anywhere, so the variety comes from shape and tone alone, dark open doorways beside pale weathered panels, tall narrow leaves beside squat ones. The rows differ slightly in height, which keeps the grid from looking mechanical. Paint is laid smooth and flat, yet mouldings, carved panels and glazing bars are picked out in fine detail.

HA#674 is an original hyperrealist geometric painting showing grid collage of dozens of old doors in sepia and grey, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Doors are about arrival, so it belongs in an architect's or interior designer's studio, a boutique hotel reception or a showroom selling joinery, tiles or hardware. Across a room the grid turns into a fine grey weave; closer up it breaks into individual doors, so place it where visitors stand and wait. Black metal, pale oak, concrete and one rust cushion suit it. Use an even wall-washer rather than a single spot, since the detail runs to every edge.

Specified for gallery & retail, workspace & office, lobby & reception and home office; it reads as moody and calming.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for HA#674 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on HA#674 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Do the doors in HA#674 come from one particular street or city?

They are not identified with any one place. The mix of arched, panelled, glazed and iron-gated designs reads as a collection gathered from many old streets, so the canvas suggests travel and history in general rather than a map of a single town.

Why are all the doors in HA#674 kept in sepia and grey?

A single coloured door would grab attention and break the rhythm of the grid. Held to one family of tones, the shapes do the work, the whole canvas reads as one surface from across the room, and it sits easily beside wood, stone and black metal.

Is HA#674 a print or an original painting?

An original. HA#674 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of HA#674 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
