Crimson and mint green drip color field painting

Long red drips hang from a band of rose-red paint and run down into a soft mint green base, like colour weeping down a weathered wall.

Above them the square is built in stacked horizontal bands: solid scarlet across the top, then a wide strip where white has been scraped over crimson so the red shows through in flakes and scratches, then a thin line of pale aqua and a dark brown seam spattered with red and crossed by fine white runs. The surface is layered and distressed, and the drips are the only vertical movement in a picture otherwise laid out like strata.
