About this painting

A broad gold ribbon twists from bottom to top of the canvas, and a swarm of small gold butterflies rises with it from the lower edge, thinning out as they climb.

Behind the ribbon runs a narrower band of sea green, looped by fine white threads like smoke. The marbled ground is milky white and grey at the top, pooling into turquoise and aqua, with a thin seam of orange breaking along the upper right. The butterflies are laid in a granular gold that catches light in small points, unlike the satin-smooth ribbon shading from lemon to amber brown, so the swarm stays distinct where it crosses it.

AA#1187 is an original abstract animal painting showing gold butterflies rising along a golden ribbon swirl over a marbled teal, white and blue ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 18×36 in (46×91 cm) to 50×100 in (127×254 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Narrow and tall, in a one-to-two proportion, the canvas answers the walls most schemes struggle with: the pier between two lift doors, the slot beside a hotel room entrance, or the short return at the end of a corridor. Since the butterflies climb, hang it fairly low, with the bottom edge just above a slim console, and let the swarm carry the eye upward. Pale aqua or white plaster walls let the marbling blend in and leave the gold standing out.

Specified for corridor & circulation, lobby & reception, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as uplifting and romantic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#1187 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 18×36 in to 50×100 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#1187 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Do the butterflies in AA#1187 have a different finish from the gold ribbon?

Yes. The butterflies are built up in a granular gold that breaks light into tiny points, while the ribbon is painted smooth and shaded from lemon yellow to amber brown. Up close the two golds look clearly different, which keeps the swarm legible where it overlaps the ribbon.

Why do all the butterflies in AA#1187 fly upward?

The climb follows the ribbon and gives the narrow canvas its movement from bottom to top. Butterflies are widely linked with change and renewal, so a swarm rising together tends to be taken as an image of lift and fresh starts, a good fit for a bedroom or a guest suite that should feel hopeful rather than formal.

Is AA#1187 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#1187 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#1187 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
