About this painting

A white butterfly spreads across the left side of a sky-blue canvas, but only one pair of its wings is painted: on the right, a column of blue and white roses crowds in where the other pair would be.

The wings are dragged on in thick, dry white streaked with slate blue, their edges left ragged and furred. The roses are sharp-edged dabs of cobalt, powder blue and white with dark green leaves, cropped by the right edge. A charcoal body and two wiry antennae are the only near-black in the picture, and small green sprigs fill the top-left and bottom-right corners.

TA#022 is an original textured animal painting showing textured white and blue butterfly wings beside a column of blue and white roses on a sky-blue ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The pale aqua ground lifts an entrance hall that gets little daylight, and the white wings keep the canvas light above a bed or a bench. Cobalt and navy upholstery repeat its roses, while white marble or grey board-formed concrete suit its cool tone, as two of its room views show. In a boutique it can face a shop window: the dark body and blue blooms stay legible from the pavement.

Specified for gallery & retail, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as uplifting and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#022 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#022 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why does the butterfly in TA#022 show only one pair of wings?

Only the left wings are painted, and the column of roses occupies the space where the right wings would open. Butterfly and flowers therefore read as a single shape, white on one side and blue on the other, rather than an insect simply resting on a bloom.

Where is the paint thickest on TA#022, the wings or the roses?

The roses are the most raised, each petal a small sharp-edged ridge of blue or white. The wings are thick as well but brushed and dragged, which gives them a soft, feathery surface, while the sky-blue ground is a thin wash dotted with fine dark speckles.

Is TA#022 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#022 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#022 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
