Between two trees in peach and apricot leaf, a small white sun hangs just above pale blue water inside a glowing band of coral.

The composition is close to symmetrical, the trunks leaning in from either edge like drawn-back curtains. Under the water line a strip of cream and ochre grasses is flecked with tiny red and pink dots, and a bare peach foreground runs to the bottom edge. Paint is dragged dry across the sky in horizontal strokes, so the blue and pink break over the ridges beneath, while the leaves are dabbed on in small crumbly touches.
