About this painting

The Milky Way pours down the centre of a night sky, a ridge of white paint so thick it stands off the canvas, and the lake below catches it as a second, broken column of white. Between the two runs a thin black shoreline of trees and low skyline, with a pale peak at its centre and rounded ultramarine bushes on either side.

A small dark sailboat rides the water to the right, and two shooting stars streak across the upper right. Teal glows around the galaxy, the sky deepens to cobalt at the edges, and flicked white starlight covers everything, lake included.

IA#030 is an original impressionist landscape painting showing Milky Way night sky over a lake with a small boat and shoreline reflection, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its long white column works best when someone approaches it head-on: at the blind end of a passage between guest rooms, or straight ahead of a front door. The canvas is mostly mid to deep blue, so chalk, pale grey or stone-coloured walls keep its edges crisp, while navy velvet, brushed brass and pale oak repeat its colours. In a bedroom it does more opposite the bed than above it, since the night sky is best enjoyed lying down.

Specified for corridor & circulation, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and bedroom; it reads as dramatic and peaceful.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#030 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#030 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the galaxy band in IA#030 raised from the surface?

Yes. The Milky Way and its reflection are sculpted in heavy strokes of white with streaks of blue pulled through them, so they stand proud of the smoother sky and water around them. A lamp set to one side makes the ridges throw small shadows, which adds to the glow.

How do the blues of IA#030 behave under warm evening lighting?

Warm bulbs push the cobalt slightly towards violet and soften the teal, while the white band turns faintly creamy but stays the brightest part of the picture. Under cooler neutral light the blues read colder and closer to a real clear night, which suits a room used mostly after dark.

Is IA#030 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#030 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#030 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
