About this painting

A woman in a blue and navy turban turns in profile, built entirely from sharp geometric facets, with a single white pearl at her ear. A long band of sand-coloured cloth falls from the turban down her back, striped with blue near its end, and a cream collar separates the blush-pink face from an orange and umber bodice.

The near-black ground is anything but flat: it is combed and troweled into swirling ridges that carry on through the coloured planes, so the whole surface holds texture beneath the clean geometry.

AA#388 is an original abstract figurative painting showing faceted geometric woman in a headscarf on a dark ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 18×36 in (46×91 cm) to 50×100 in (127×254 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

With its height double its width, it suits walls other paintings cannot fill: a pier between two doors, the strip beside a lift, a column face in a lobby or a narrow entrance wall. The largest size stands about two and a half metres tall, so check ceiling height first. Rattan, cane, honey oak and ochre velvet echo the bodice and scarf, and a ceiling spot grazing down the canvas brings up the combed ridges in the black.

Specified for corridor & circulation, gallery & retail, lobby & reception and entryway & hallway; it reads as moody and bold.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#388 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 18×36 in to 50×100 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#388 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is AA#388 based on a famous painting?

Yes, it is a geometric reworking of the well-known seventeenth-century Dutch portrait of a girl with a pearl earring. The turban, the turned head, the long scarf and the pearl are kept; everything else is reduced to flat facets of blue, pink, sand and orange on a black ground.

How does the black background of AA#388 look up close?

Ridged. The dark ground is worked with a trowel and comb into overlapping arcs, and the same marks run through the blue, pink and orange facets. Seen head-on it reads as a deep, soft black; with light falling from above, each ridge throws a fine shadow.

Is AA#388 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#388 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#388 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
