About this painting

Bone-white ribbons fold and cross over a dark ground of mottled brown and charcoal, like pale roots surfacing through weathered stone. The ribbons are not clean: their paint is broken and pitted, flecked with dark spots where the ground shows through, and in places they widen into pale lobes, one near the right edge, another low in the centre.

The ground itself is built up and crackled, close to the look of lichen on rock, with warmer brown breaking through the charcoal. No area is plain; even the darkest corners carry texture, so the surface changes as light moves across it.

AA#066 is an original abstract geometric painting showing dark mottled brown-black ground crossed by pale angular ribbons, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The dark ground needs light to show its crackle: a picture light, or a ceiling washer angled from one side, picks out the pitted surface that flat, even light hides. It belongs with heavy natural materials such as smoked oak, cognac leather, bronze and clay plaster. In a boardroom the square format sits calm and centred on an end wall. On a taupe or mushroom-coloured wall the dark field holds its edges without looking like a void.

Specified for meeting & boardroom, corridor & circulation, dining room and entryway & hallway; it reads as moody and dramatic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#066 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#066 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What is the surface of AA#066 like up close?

Rough and uneven. The dark ground is worked into a crackled, pitted layer, and the bone-white ribbons sit on top with broken edges and dark specks, so the canvas has the dry, weathered texture of old stone rather than a smooth painted finish.

Is AA#066 a wabi-sabi painting?

Largely, yes. It shares the wabi-sabi taste for worn, imperfect surfaces: nothing is crisp, the white is chipped and the ground looks aged. Hung with handmade ceramics, rough plaster or reclaimed wood it reads as part of that aesthetic, though its contrast is bolder than most quiet wabi-sabi work.

Is AA#066 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#066 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#066 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
