About this painting

A black-and-white striped vase holds a spray of cartoonish flowers, one white, one orange, one pink with red polka dots, one striped in blue, on a black table drawn in a few thin white lines. Behind it a brown and black checkerboard tilts and warps slightly, with a small red block at the left.

Only the vase and flowers are filled with solid colour; the wine glass is outlined in blue and the sprigs on the table in white. Paint runs down from two of the blooms in deliberate drips, and fine white and red specks are flicked across the dark, keeping the graphic look loose and handmade.

CA#401 is an original colorful still life painting showing naive still life of flowers in a striped vase on a checkerboard ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 10 standard sizes run from 24×24 in (61×61 cm) to 72×72 in (183×183 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Mostly black, it hits hard on a white or chalky plaster wall and depends on that contrast; on dark paint its edges would disappear. The wine glass makes it a natural fit for a wine bar or bistro, and the graphic checks suit a concept store or design shop. Bentwood chairs, cane, walnut and cognac leather pick up the brown squares. Keep patterned tiles out of the same view, since the checkerboard should be the only pattern there.

Specified for restaurant & bar, gallery & retail, dining room and living room; it reads as bold and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#401 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 24×24 in to 72×72 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#401 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Are the paint drips in CA#401 intentional?

Yes. White paint has been left to run from the white and apricot flowers down over the checkerboard and the edge of the table. The drips loosen an otherwise tidy, graphic image, and because each canvas is painted by hand they fall a little differently every time.

Why are the table and glass in CA#401 only outlined?

Drawing the table, wine glass and sprigs as thin lines over black lets them recede, so the solid vase and flowers come forward. It is a naive, sketchbook way of building a still life, and it stops the large black area from feeling heavy.

Is CA#401 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#401 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#401 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
