Studio photograph of the actual canvas. Yours is repainted to your dimensions, so brushwork will differ slightly — that is what an original is.

About this painting

Two columns of olive green rise out of a near-black field: a wide, pale one hugging the left edge and a narrower, brighter one standing just left of centre. Both are broken and mottled, the green thinned over the dark so that the black shows through in small pits and specks.

Almost nothing happens on the right side: a deep blue-black with faint vertical brush drag and a soft sheen. That emptiness is what makes the two pale shapes glow; some see light falling through a gap, others two birch trunks at dusk.

AA#1018 is an original abstract painting showing two weathered pale-green columns on a near-black field, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

A dark canvas needs light on it, not just near it: a picture light or a ceiling spot aimed at the surface keeps the near-black from reading as a hole in the wall. It is at home against warm white, putty or limewashed walls, with walnut, blackened steel and moss-green velvet. Keep neighbouring art sparse so the dark field looks deliberate, and let a single brass or ceramic object nearby repeat the pale olive.

Specified for corridor & circulation, guest room & suite, entryway & hallway and home office; it reads as moody and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#1018 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#1018 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What makes the green columns in AA#1018 look mottled?

The green sits thinly over the dark ground and breaks into tiny specks and pits, so the black shows through. Close up it resembles weathered stone or lichen; from across the room the columns simply glow against the darkness.

Is the dark ground of AA#1018 black or blue?

It is a near-black with a cool blue cast, visible in daylight and around the edges of the green. Under warm lamps it reads as plain black; under daylight bulbs a hint of navy comes through, which suits navy or charcoal upholstery.

Is AA#1018 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#1018 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#1018 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
