About this painting

A pearl-white channel curls up the canvas in a slow S-bend, parted on either side by currents of turquoise and sky blue flecked with gold. The right side deepens to cobalt at the bottom and fades into a warm ochre field along the edge, while the left cools into steel blue and grey, with a small violet passage darkening the top left corner.

The paint is blended smooth and fluid, like marbled water, with no raised areas. Gold is scattered as fine specks and short dragged streaks that collect along the seams where blue meets white, tracing the movement of the currents.
