Studio photograph of the actual canvas. Yours is repainted to your dimensions, so brushwork will differ slightly — that is what an original is.

About this painting

Sheer black occupies the whole left half from top to bottom, and against it a cream and sand pour climbs in a ragged column, its edge torn like a coastline.

Further right the paint pales almost to white. The detail worth walking up to is the black veining in that pale half: hairline threads that branch and net together like a river delta seen from the air, thickening into a dark knot near the bottom. A few caramel flecks touch the right edge. The cream is built up in raised ridges, heaviest where it meets the black, so that border catches light.

AA#026 is an original abstract painting showing black field meeting cream and sand poured flow with ink veining, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The hard split gives a lobby or boardroom wall a clear dark side and a light side, so it sits well on a tall pier between two doors or at the head of a long table. Travertine, boucle, smoked oak and brushed brass all belong to its palette. Where you can, put the black half on the side away from the window and the pale half toward it, so the canvas follows the room's own fall of light.

Specified for lobby & reception, meeting & boardroom, living room and gallery & retail; it reads as moody and dramatic.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#026 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#026 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What are the fine black lines on the pale side of AA#026?

Hairline veins of black running through the cream, splitting and rejoining until they gather into a darker knot lower down. They are the finest detail on the canvas and show properly only from about a metre away, so they reward anyone who walks up to it rather than passing by.

What happens to the ridged border of AA#026 under raking light?

It starts to look carved. The cream is thickest along the ragged edge where it meets the black, so a lamp angled across the surface casts a line of small shadows there. Lit straight on, the ridges flatten and the contrast of black against cream carries the painting instead.

Is AA#026 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#026 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#026 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
