About this painting

Black and white paint are worked together into a grainy, pitted crust that looks like weathered granite or lichen on rock seen from very close.

Darker clouds gather along the top and in a band at the lower left, with a pale, chalky field running through the middle and up to the right. Black flecks are scattered over the light areas like grit, and along the bottom edge the white breaks into crumbly islands. There is no colour beyond black, white and grey, so all the interest lies in the surface, a dense granular texture that catches light right across the canvas.

AA#255 is an original abstract painting showing mottled black and white speckled stone-like texture, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Grazing light is what this canvas needs: a ceiling downlight set close to the wall, or a linear wall washer above it, turns every grain into a tiny shadow. That makes it a strong choice for a reception wall lit at night or a dark-walled bar. Against slatted timber or charcoal plaster the black zones melt into the wall and the pale field seems to float; on a white wall it reads more graphic and defined.

Specified for restaurant & bar, lobby & reception, living room and home office; it reads as moody and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#255 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#255 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is AA#255 meant to show clouds, rock or the moon?

Nothing is depicted directly. People see different things in it, from storm clouds and lunar ground to a granite slab or a coastline from the air, and that ambiguity is part of its appeal. It works as a study of material more than as an image.

Does the gritty surface of AA#255 collect dust?

A little, as any dense texture does. A soft, dry brush or feather duster passed downward every few weeks keeps it clean; avoid damp cloths and spray cleaners. In a restaurant, hang it away from the kitchen pass and fryers, where airborne grease would cling to the grain.

Is AA#255 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#255 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#255 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
