Pale blue blush and gold leaf weathered strata acrylic painting

Horizontal bands of pale sky blue, blush, chalk white and grey are stacked down a wide canvas like layers of sediment, with broken seams of gold caught between them.

The top band is the clearest blue, scored with thin white lines like ripples. The gold is torn and uneven, brightest in a cluster at the upper left and in a long seam across the lower centre, with smaller flecks at the right. Between those seams the paint is scraped and layered, darker grey-brown grit showing through the blush and white, so from a step back the canvas reads like a shoreline seen from the air.
