About this painting

Cream loops and rounded vessel shapes stack up the middle of a deep chocolate ground, like a pile of pots and handles drawn with a loaded brush. At the top sits a tall arch outline, then a cup with a ring handle swinging out to the left, two lens-shaped bowls, and at the base a heavy rounded vessel with an open oval loop beside it.

The cream is chalky and uneven, dragged on in visible strokes over warm buff. The brown is brushed, with a faint bronze bloom toward the corners, and shows through every loop, so the dark spaces inside the forms become shapes of their own.

WA#051 is an original wabi-sabi painting showing cream organic looping forms on a dark brown ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Dark and warm, it earns its place in rooms busiest after dark: a restaurant under amber pendants, a dining room of walnut and leather, a hotel lobby finished in bronze and travertine. The pale stacked forms stay legible from across a room, so it can close the view down an entry hall as guests approach. Keep the surrounding wall lighter than the ground, in warm stone or putty, or the canvas edges will dissolve.

Specified for lobby & reception, restaurant & bar, entryway & hallway and dining room; it reads as cozy & warm and bold.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#051 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#051 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Are the cream forms in WA#051 meant to be vases?

They read that way: stacked pots, cups and handles given as outlines and filled shapes, in the spirit of mid-century still-life abstraction. Nothing is modelled or shaded, so they also work as pure loops and curves, which keeps the painting from feeling like a kitchen still life.

How does the brown ground of WA#051 look next to black or grey furniture?

Beside black it looks distinctly warm, closer to dark chocolate or coffee; beside cool grey it can lean slightly red. It is happiest with walnut, cognac leather, brass and cream, where the brown links the painting to the room instead of standing apart from it.

Is WA#051 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#051 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#051 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
