About this painting

Amber and ochre spread across the upper canvas like the face of old copper or a scorched page, then darken by degrees into brown and charcoal at the base. Just above the centre, a small wisp of white breaks the field, the only cool note in the whole picture.

The paint is thin and dry, dabbed and speckled rather than brushed, so the surface looks pitted while staying flat to the touch. Darker spots float in the top right, and pale flecks scatter through the lower third like dust in a beam of light. There is no horizon to hold onto; the gaze simply sinks from warm to dark.

WA#273 is an original wabi-sabi painting showing mottled amber, ochre and brown field like aged parchment with a small white cloud spot, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The amber holds best under warm light around 2700K, which brings out its copper tones; under cool office lighting it turns browner and flatter. In a restaurant, place it where tables face it rather than beside a busy bar back, since the slow gradient needs a moment. It sits well with cognac leather, smoked glass, aged brass and bone-coloured walls, and in a boardroom it warms a dark timber table without adding pattern.

Specified for corridor & circulation, restaurant & bar, dining room and meeting & boardroom; it reads as moody and cozy & warm.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#273 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#273 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What is the small white mark near the centre of WA#273?

It is a single soft wisp of white, the brightest point on the canvas. Some see a cloud or a puff of smoke in a dusky sky; others take it simply as a highlight that stops the amber field from feeling heavy. Either way, it is where attention keeps returning.

Could WA#273 carry more ochre and less dark brown at the base?

Yes. The gradient from amber and ochre at the top to brown and charcoal at the base can be shifted, keeping more of the golden tone lower down for a lighter room, or deepened further for a dim bar. A swatch of the wall or upholstery helps to set the balance.

Is WA#273 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#273 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#273 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
