About this painting

Seen from straight above, a wave runs onto a beach in one long diagonal, its foam a broad band of chalky white crossing the canvas from upper left to lower right. Slate-blue water scattered with spray lies above it, a muted sage-teal corner fills the upper right, and dark brown sand closes the lower left.

Every area is knife-laid, the strokes running with the diagonal so the whole surface seems to slide. The white band is thickest: its edges curl up in ragged ridges that cast real shadows, and fine scratches run along it like the lace a retreating wave leaves behind.

TA#098 is an original textured seascape painting showing aerial view of a foamy wave breaking on a brown shoreline in heavy plaster-like knife texture, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The diagonal gives movement to a tall, slim wall, so it suits the panel between two windows, the wall behind a freestanding bath or the narrow stretch beside a guest-room wardrobe. Side daylight brings out the shadowed ridges far better than flat overhead downlights. In cool north light the foam turns faintly blue and merges with the water; a warm lamp nearby keeps it chalky and separate.

Specified for spa & wellness, guest room & suite, living room and bathroom; it reads as calming and moody.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#098 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#098 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What is the brown corner in TA#098?

Wet sand at the water's edge, seen from above. It is the only warm, dark colour in the painting, which is why the foam band looks so bright beside it, and it gives a designer the link to walnut, leather or bronze elsewhere in the room.

Which canvases pair well with TA#098 on the same wall?

Choose a partner that shares its chalky white and slate blue but has no diagonal, such as a calm horizon seascape or a plain white textured panel. Two diagonal compositions side by side can make a wall feel as though it is tilting.

Is TA#098 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#098 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#098 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
