About this painting

A chalky white block fills the top of the canvas, and under it dozens of hair-fine white rings fan out across black from one point on its lower edge.

The two halves are painted in opposite ways. The white is dry-brushed and broken, with black showing through in flecks, streaks and a dark smudge near the top, so it looks weathered rather than solid. The half circle below is exact and patient, ring after ring laid close enough to shimmer on black dusted with faint white specks. The tension sits on the ragged seam where the rough block meets the precise rings.

MA#028 is an original minimalist geometric painting showing white block above a black semicircle of concentric fine lines, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Hang it where people face it straight on from a few metres away: the wall opposite a boardroom table, the long wall of a home office, or above a low headboard in a suite. Black steel, grey stone, smoked oak and white plaster all suit its strict two-tone palette, while brass or warm timber softens it. A ceiling wash aimed at the upper half keeps the white bright and the ringed black deep. The tall shape fits neatly between two windows.

Specified for meeting & boardroom, guest room & suite, home office and bedroom; it reads as moody and peaceful.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for MA#028 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on MA#028 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How are the concentric rings in MA#028 painted?

By hand, one ring at a time, as thin pale lines over the black ground. They sit so close together that from across a room the half circle reads as a soft grey tone; up close you see the separate lines and the slight changes in spacing that hand-drawn lines always have.

Why does the white block in MA#028 look rough at the edges?

Because the white is brushed on dry and thin in places, letting the black underneath break through as flecks and streaks, with one dark smudge near the top. That keeps the block from reading as a flat rectangle and gives it the worn quality wabi-sabi interiors look for.

Is MA#028 a print or an original painting?

An original. MA#028 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of MA#028 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
