About this painting

A pale sun burns through blue haze high on the canvas, and about fifteen butterflies climb toward it from a meadow of tall, misty grass. Their wings carry the only warm colour in the picture: ochre, amber and orange on some, deep navy on others, each edged in dark paint so it stays crisp against the blue.

Lower down the surface gets busier. Hundreds of small white and gold flecks sit slightly raised among thin upright grass strokes, like petals caught in the light, while the sky around the sun stays smooth and almost white.

IA#496 is an original impressionist animal painting showing butterflies rising through a glowing blue meadow toward a soft sun with white and gold flecks, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Every butterfly moves toward the light source at the top, so the canvas wants a tall, narrow wall that people approach head-on: the far end of a guest-floor corridor, beside a lift lobby door, or between two bedroom wardrobes. Cool blue this clear sits best with pale oak, grey stone and white bedlinen. A downlight aimed at the upper third makes the raised white flecks glint; very warm lamps tend to push the blue toward grey-green.

Specified for spa & wellness, guest room & suite, bedroom and corridor & circulation; it reads as calming and uplifting.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#496 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#496 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What do the rising butterflies in IA#496 suggest?

Butterflies are widely read as a sign of change and renewal. Here every one of them flies the same way, up out of the grass toward the sun, so most people take the picture as hopeful rather than wistful, so it is a natural fit for wellness and recovery spaces.

Why are some butterflies in IA#496 navy instead of gold?

Mixing the two creates depth. The navy ones are close in tone to the blue ground, so they seem to sink back into the haze, while the ochre and orange ones jump forward. The warm butterflies read as near, the dark ones as further off in the light.

Is IA#496 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#496 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#496 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
