About this painting

A white calf sleeps in a yellow meadow with its head resting against a small orange pumpkin, eyes closed in what looks like a contented smile.

Behind it are a round hay bale, a red barn with a pale grey roof and a slender maple whose orange leaves spill across the top of the canvas against a clear blue sky. The leaves are dabbed on thickly in orange, gold and a little red, while the sky and distant trees stay soft. Flecks of white and orange scatter through the foreground grass like fallen petals and leaves.

IA#323 is an original impressionist animal painting showing white calf asleep by a red barn and hay bale under an autumn maple, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The sleeping calf gives it a gentle, storybook quality, a good fit for a family suite in a country hotel, a farm-to-table restaurant or a breakfast room. At home it also suits a child's room and stays right as the child grows, since nothing about it is babyish. Cream walls, light oak and checked or ticking fabrics suit it; hang it at eye level so the calf's face is not lost above a sofa back.

Specified for restaurant & bar, guest room & suite, living room and entryway & hallway; it reads as cozy & warm and uplifting.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for IA#323 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on IA#323 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why is there a pumpkin next to the calf in IA#323?

It sets the season. With the hay bale and the orange maple, the pumpkin marks this as a harvest scene, and it gives the calf something to lean on, which is much of the charm. It also repeats the maple's orange at the bottom of the canvas, tying top and bottom together.

Is the calf in IA#323 realistic or stylised?

In between. The farm, hay and maple are painted loosely with real light and shadow, but the calf's closed eyes, pink nose and curled ear are softened and slightly simplified, which gives it a warm, illustrative character rather than the look of a livestock portrait.

Is IA#323 a print or an original painting?

An original. IA#323 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of IA#323 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
