About this painting

Hot pink and magenta pour across the canvas from the upper left, breaking into small flowers, cells and lacy rings where they meet sage green and soft teal. Upper right, one large mauve flower with a pale centre stands a little apart, the clearest single bloom in the crowd. A cream and white current runs down through the lower left, edged with fine dark veins like marbled paper, and the bottom corner settles into plum and aubergine.

The surface is smooth: the detail comes from the way fluid paint separates, not from built-up texture. Small orange and coral patches near the middle stop the pinks from turning sugary.
