About this painting

Five orange peonies are stacked up the canvas almost edge to edge, painted so thickly that each petal stands up in a curled, smeared ridge. The blooms run from apricot and tangerine to a deep red-orange along the right side, with yellow catching the tops of the petals as if lit from the upper left.

Between them, sage green and cream are swirled in long curving strokes, and the lowest quarter dissolves into these pale green eddies. Only a corner of the pale grey ground shows, at top left, so the picture feels full to the brim, like an armful of flowers pressed against glass.

CA#544 is an original colorful floral painting showing orange knife-impasto peonies with sage green leaves, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

At the dead end of a pale corridor it is the only colour in sight and pulls people down the length of it; a recessed downlight placed about an arm's length from the wall will rake the thick petals and deepen their shadows. In a bedroom the heavy surface wants a plain wall to itself, behind or facing the bed, with walnut, black steel or travertine nearby rather than another patterned piece.

Specified for guest room & suite, bedroom, corridor & circulation and dining room; it reads as cozy & warm and uplifting.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for CA#544 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on CA#544 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why does CA#544 look different under warm and cool light?

The petals are built from many oranges laid over each other, from apricot to red-orange. Warm bulbs push the whole bunch towards red and make the yellow highlights glow, while daylight or cooler LEDs keep it closer to apricot and bring out the sage green between the blooms.

Where is the paint thickest on CA#544's peonies?

At the hearts of the five blooms, where the paint is pushed into folded petal shapes that stand well off the canvas. The sage and cream swirls lower down are smoother, laid in long sweeps, so the texture gathers where the flowers are and eases off around them.

Is CA#544 a print or an original painting?

An original. CA#544 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of CA#544 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
