About this painting

Every inch of the canvas is blue, worked in short upright knife strokes that move from deep ultramarine and cobalt at the edges to a pale sky-blue glow just right of centre. White flecks catch on the ridges like light on broken ice, and a few black marks low on the left give the blue something to push against.

Nothing in it is a horizon or an object; what holds it together is a vertical rhythm running top to bottom. Fine scraped lines cut across the strokes here and there, so the surface looks layered and worked over rather than smooth.

AA#1012 is an original abstract painting showing monochrome Klein blue palette-knife strokes with white and black accents, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

A single colour family is easier to place than a multicoloured abstract: it holds its own against white, warm grey or pale ash without fighting anything else in the room. In an office reception the blue reads clear and fresh behind a white or light timber counter. In a living room, repeat the cobalt once, perhaps in a throw or a ceramic lamp base, and keep the rest neutral. Avoid very yellow bulbs, which turn the paler blues greenish.

Specified for lobby & reception, workspace & office, gallery & retail and living room; it reads as bold and uplifting.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#1012 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#1012 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How many shades of blue does AA#1012 move through?

Roughly four: a deep ultramarine toward the left and right edges, a mid cobalt in most of the strokes, a pale sky blue through the centre, and an almost white blue where the light is brightest. Black and white marks sit on top as accents.

What do the black marks on the left of AA#1012 add?

They are the only dark notes on the canvas, smudged patches low on the left side. Without them the blues would read as one soft haze; with them the eye finds a point of depth, and the pale centre looks brighter by contrast.

Is AA#1012 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#1012 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#1012 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
