Tan gray and ochre cubist geometric acrylic painting

A black, jaw-like shape fills the middle of the canvas, lined with grey triangular teeth, and above it a white almond eye looks out from a pale crescent. Around it, flat planes of tan, ochre, warm grey and brown interlock like cut paper, so the whole reads as a mask or as pure shape.

Fine black lines cross the surface in a loose web, ignoring the edges of the planes, and meet at a small red square near the bottom. A cream squiggle at the top left and a mustard arch at the lower right sit apart like marginal notes, and the paint stays matte throughout.
