About this painting

A ragged burst of ochre, olive and gold paint crosses a soft cream field on a slight diagonal, trailing fine dark strands downward like roots. At its centre the paint is thickest, scraped and flicked into short broken marks, with touches of pale blue and violet caught among them.

Everything around the burst stays blended and quiet: warm cream, a peach glow at upper right, a strip of ochre down the top left edge. Then, at lower right, a dense crimson patch breaks the calm, with orange running along the bottom edge beneath it. That one dark block keeps the canvas from reading as merely pale.

Why is there a dark red block at the lower right of AA#1068?
