About this painting

Wide cream strokes cross in the upper middle of the canvas like folded paper, with rust orange flaring at both top corners and a mass of slate blue rising from the base. Pale yellow catches at the edges of the cream, and a scatter of black and grey speckle at the top centre is the darkest small detail on the surface.

The knife has left the cream thick and ridged, with sharp lifted ends where each stroke stops, while the slate blue below is pulled in long curving sweeps like wind across a hillside. The palette stays muted, so texture does more of the work than colour.

AA#174 is an original abstract painting showing broad cream knife strokes crossing rust orange and slate blue sweeps, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Rust and slate are the colours of weathered metal and stone, so it belongs in a restaurant or bar with Corten steel, terracotta tile or cognac leather banquettes. In a hotel lobby, hang it on a warm grey wall under a row of ceiling spots, as here, so the cream ridges lift off the darker blue. Give it a few metres of viewing space; up close the strokes break apart into texture.

Specified for lobby & reception, restaurant & bar, guest room & suite and living room; it reads as bold and cozy & warm.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#174 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#174 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Does AA#174 feel warm or cool on the wall?

Both, which is its strength. The rust corners and cream centre are warm, but slate blue fills roughly the lower half, so it can balance a warm restaurant interior or cool down a room full of timber. Under low amber light the blue shifts towards charcoal.

Is the cream shape in AA#174 supposed to be a bird?

It was painted as an abstract, but the cluster of cream strokes, with two angled points to the right, can read as a bird or a folded sheet in flight. That reading gives the canvas upward movement, which works at the top of a stair or above a reception desk.

Is AA#174 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#174 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#174 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
