About this painting

Cobalt, periwinkle, black and rust are flung and dripped in a dense knot across a mustard yellow ground, thick in the middle and thinning to scattered dots at the edges. Long poured lines loop through the cluster, and in places yellow has been dripped back over the blue, so the ground colour also appears on top.

Small flicks of white light up the left centre, a few red dots hide in the upper left, and the rust gathers in a diagonal run below the middle. Because yellow shows in every corner, the picture reads as warm even though most of the paint on it is blue and black.

Is the splatter on AA#063 random?

Less than it looks. The paint is flung and poured by hand, so no two drips match, but the cluster is steered: dark and dense in the middle, lighter toward the edges, the rust kept to one diagonal, and yellow brought back on top so the blue never closes over the ground.

How does the yellow ground of AA#063 behave in a room?
