a large vertical abstract painting of long downward streaks in navy, sky blue, white and mustard yellow, layered so pale scrapes sit over dark ground, built up in ridged palette-knife impasto

Studio photograph of the actual canvas. Yours is repainted to your dimensions, so brushwork will differ slightly — that is what an original is.

About this painting

Navy, sky blue and white run down the canvas in long scraped streaks, as if rain had washed the colour toward the bottom edge. Mustard yellow breaks in along the right side from the top corner, flares in the centre and pools along the lower left, warming what would otherwise be a cold, weathered wall of blue.

The surface is dry and crusted: pale paint dragged over dark so the navy shows through in broken flecks, and a dense black band low on the right where white has been scratched across it. A hazy white strip along the top edge keeps the streaks from simply starting at the frame.

AA#888 is an original abstract painting showing vertical streaks of blue, navy, white and mustard yellow, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The downward pull of the streaks suits a corridor end wall or the narrow wall beside a lift, where a vertical canvas fills a space a landscape format could not. In a bar it holds up against dark stained timber and black steel, and the mustard can be picked up in leather or ochre upholstery. Grey concrete or slate walls flatter it more than bright white, which washes out its pale streaks.

Specified for lobby & reception, restaurant & bar, corridor & circulation and living room; it reads as bold and moody.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#888 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#888 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Why is there mustard in an otherwise blue canvas like AA#888?

It is the warm counterweight. Without it the painting would read as cold navy and grey; the mustard at the top right, centre and lower left keeps the eye moving in a loose zigzag and gives a designer a second colour to carry into the room.

Does AA#888 look different close up than from across a room?

Very. From a distance the streaks merge into a column of blue lit by yellow, almost like a rainy window at dusk. Up close the surface breaks into crusted flecks, scratched lines and dry ridges, which rewards a corridor where people pass within a metre of it.

Is AA#888 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#888 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#888 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
