Cobalt, turquoise and vermilion dabs burst outward from a small white core, like a firework caught at the instant it opens over a pale grey sky.

Near the centre the marks are packed tight over black, with tiny yellow-green sparks showing between them; toward the edges they thin into smaller flecks and spatter on a mottled grey and white ground. Each dab is pressed on thickly, so the blues and reds stand slightly proud of the surface. The radial pull is strong enough that the square edges almost stop registering.
