About this painting

Short, fat knife strokes of navy, cornflower, slate blue, sage and lavender tumble over a warm butter-yellow ground, thick enough to curl at their edges like whipped icing. Small flashes of orange and streaks of bright purple sit among them, and white is swirled into the blues so many strokes carry two colours at once.

Nothing is centred and nothing repeats: the strokes point every way, as if thrown, and the yellow shows through in irregular pockets across the canvas, most generously along the left edge. Up close the ridges are sharp and raised; from across a room the surface becomes a shimmering field of cool against warm.

AA#636 is an original abstract painting showing dense blue, purple, green and orange knife strokes crowding a yellow ground, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

It suits rooms that already have some character: a reception with deep blue velvet seating, a showroom with warm white plaster walls, or a living room where ochre already appears in a rug. Keep its centre near eye height in a spot people brush past, such as an entryway or a gallery bay, because the knife ridges are half the appeal. A wall washer mounted to one side exaggerates the sharp peaks and makes the yellow pockets glow.

Specified for gallery & retail, lobby & reception, living room and entryway & hallway; it reads as bold and vibrant.

Colour palette

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#636 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#636 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the yellow in AA#636 a background or part of the composition?

Both. It went down first as the ground, but so much of it is left showing between the blue strokes that it becomes the second main colour. That is why the painting feels warm overall despite its mostly cool strokes, and why it sits well beside honey-toned furniture.

Will AA#636 clash with patterned textiles?

It can. The surface is already busy, so a patterned rug or printed curtains close by compete with it. Plain fabrics in navy, lavender or mustard pick out its colours without adding more movement; a single patterned cushion is fine, a patterned wall behind it is not.

Is AA#636 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#636 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#636 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
