About this painting

A sand-coloured wave climbs from the lower left corner of a tall cream canvas, and a seam of granular silver catches along its crest like spray on a shoreline. Above it the upper half is almost all pale ground: cream and oyster white pulled in long diagonal strokes, veined with faint grey like polished marble.

Lower down the colour deepens through tan and caramel to a ribbon of cocoa brown at the right edge, and a second, smaller silver band rests near the base. The silver sits in a raised, granular layer, so it glints as you walk past.
