About this painting

Wide slabs of cream, ochre and warm brown are dragged down a tall canvas with a heavily loaded knife, overlapping like strips of peeling bark. Each stroke leaves a ridged edge and a torn, feathered tail. Bright yellow shows between the strips on the left and along the top, while the lower right sinks into deep umber, so the picture runs from light to dark across its width.

There is no subject, only paint. A few blue-grey streaks run inside the brown, and one pale teal patch sits high on the right: the coolest mark here, and the one that keeps the warmth from feeling heavy.

TA#042 is an original textured painting showing heavy knife-loaded slabs of ochre, cream and brown paint, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The knife edges only show when people pass close, so give it a spot where they do: a reception pillar, the wall beside a lift or a narrow bay in an open-plan office. In a living room or study it sits well with walnut, tan leather, bronze and ribbed oak. Light it with warm 2700 to 3000 K lamps; cold blue-white LEDs turn the ochre greyish and the browns muddy.

Specified for workspace & office, lobby & reception, home office and living room; it reads as cozy & warm and bold.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#042 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#042 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is TA#042 meant to show anything?

No, it is pure abstraction: the subject is the knife-laid paint itself. Viewers often see birch bark, a cliff face or falling water in the upright strips, and that openness makes it easy to place in offices and lobbies, where a recognisable image can feel too personal.

Where is the paint heaviest on TA#042?

In the cream and white slabs through the centre and upper left, where the knife left thick, rounded ridges and small curled lips of paint. The dark brown at the lower right is laid thinner and more broken, so the relief drops away as the colour deepens.

Is TA#042 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#042 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#042 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
