About this painting

Two streams of colour collide in the middle of a long white canvas: curved bands of brown, teal and ochre sweep in from the left while straight bars of crimson, amber and turquoise drive in from the right.

At the collision point, slightly off-centre to the right, the paint shatters into small scraped chips of red, teal and lilac. The knife marks are easy to read: flat planes with crisp edges across the pale upper half, dragged streaks below, and a few thin blue flicks in the lower right that keep that quiet corner from going blank.
