About this painting

Knife-cut blocks of periwinkle blue and deep navy jostle against a single burnt terracotta stroke on a thick, chalky cream ground. The terracotta climbs from the bottom edge toward the centre beside the navy square that anchors the lower left, while paler blue slabs and grey squares crowd the top edge like stacked tiles.

The ground is genuinely sculpted: cream paint is laid on in heavy ridges, scraped back to a chalky white in places and dragged in vertical streaks down the right side. Every coloured block has a raised knife edge, so the shapes look cut and pressed into the surface rather than painted onto it.

AA#717 is an original abstract painting showing thick knife strokes in blue, navy, beige and terracotta, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Rough-sawn oak, rattan, unglazed clay tile and slubby linen upholstery all suit the chalky surface. In a restaurant it works on a pale wall near the bar or at the end of a banquette, where diners pass close enough to see the knife edges. Because the ridges throw shadow, an adjustable ceiling spot angled steeply down the canvas wakes up the cream ground; flat lighting from straight in front makes it read almost smooth.

Specified for guest room & suite, restaurant & bar, living room and bedroom; it reads as calming and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#717 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#717 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How deep is the texture on AA#717, and does it collect dust?

The ridges stand clearly proud of the canvas, deepest in the cream ground and along the edges of the blue and navy blocks. Like any heavily textured surface it gathers some dust, and a soft, dry brush run gently along the ridges every few months is enough, with no water or spray.

Could the terracotta in AA#717 become ochre or olive instead?

Yes. The single burnt terracotta stroke and its small flecks at the upper left can be repainted in ochre, olive or a deeper rust, leaving the periwinkle, navy and chalky cream as they are. With no other warm note anywhere, the change shifts the temperature of the whole piece, so review that stage photo carefully.

Is AA#717 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#717 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#717 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
